Best Gift Giving Ideas – Airplane Models

A Gift….. It’s tough to come up with a good one. You are racking your brains for ideas for a gift that you want to be special, unique, and most of all appreciated. Coming up with the best gift giving ideas can be a struggle. It’s almost like ‘writer’s block’. You are at a dead end and wondering ‘What can I give?’.

Here’s a Great Idea

Are you looking to give a gift for a young person or an adult? Let’s talk about a young kid that hasn’t had the life experiences that you have had. You want them to experience the excitement of something new, something that drives the imagination whereby they start asking questions.

Look at Airplane Models. At a young age, an airplane model kit can deliver hours of enjoyment. From actually learningMilitary Model to build a model and then either playing with it or displaying it, brings their imaginations alive. It doesn’t matter what kind of model kit you give as a gift, though it helps to know if the young person has a particular interest.

Young boys tend to gravitate towards the military aircraft models or automobiles. Take the time to ask them if they have an interest in the older types of aircraft, propeller driven or Jet. Knowing where their interests lie will help you in determining what model may be the best gift.

Let me point you in a direction that may give you some ideas and will allow you to buy the most unusual gift they were not expecting. Find a gift that inspires and drives the imagination. You can look here.

Same Great Idea

If you’re looking for a gift for the older person who seems to have everything and you are at a loss for ideas…. The adult still has a ‘kid’ inside of them. We all still have our dreams and imaginations. We just seem to find it more difficult to experience the excitement that a young kid experiences, but we still have our moments.

Here’s the same great idea for the ‘Older’ young kid in all of us. A Model Airplane! Not a kit where one has to assemble pieces, but a model that is already built and painted with a livery that brings memories and a smile.

Again, it helps to know what interests they may have. Are they ‘Road Warriors’, business people who travel a great deal? Knowing the Airline that they fly the most will help you in finding the right livery (paint scheme) for a model they will have a personal interest in. A Boeing 767 or 777 or an Airbus 321 as well as a host of other types of commercial airplanes are all available.
Choose a gift that reflects upon what they have done or are doing and elicits memories of being a ‘Road Warrior’. Let me point you to a place you can ‘internet surf’ and find your ‘Road Warrior’ that special, unique, and most of all appreciated gift. You can look here.

  1. OMG…model airplane kits as a gift…that is a great idea. It’s one of those, why didn’t I think of that moments. I haven’t made one of those since I was a kid. I really enjoyed the experience and satisfaction of completing a kit, then moving on to another that was a little more challenging. It also helps develop fine motor skills as well. Thank you for the great idea and links to marvelous options.

  2. Hello Chris
Wow great idea when I was a kid we built models all the time and it was fun and exciting too. Today kids have their heads stuck in video games and cell phones! The one I remember the most was a B52 the wing span was about 3 Feet I painted, glued and built it. WOW it has been a long time since I have thought of that. I have not seen any youngsters doing anything like this any more great job Chris. Couple questions do you have the connections like the hobby shops of the 60s and 70s?, do you do model cars and trucks as well as planes?

    1. Hi Mark,  Thank you for the comment.  Not sure if I understand your question referencing ‘connections like the hobby shops’.  At this moment in time I have focused on Aviation, but I certainly will look into model cars and trucks as well.
